AmCham had the privilege to host a lunch conference at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Casablanca on May 10th featuring Mr. Myron Brilliant, Senior Vice President of International Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Mr. Scott Eisner,
President of the U.S.-Africa Business Center. The successful event had over 40 members and U.S. officials taking part at the conference and networking activity that fully filled the room.
Following the welcoming words of AmCham President, Mr. Brilliant delivered remarks on the present and future of U.S.-Morocco relations. He stressed how Morocco is constantly evolving and that the U.S. and Morocco still have a long
road ahead to further develop their economic and business ties. He welcomed ideas and suggestions from the audience to boost trade and investments between the two countries. He also expressed how the role of the Chamber of Commerce is
also one of education and information sharing.
In his speech, Mr. Scott Eisner kept the hopeful and positive tone of the one preceding him. Introduced as Mr. Africa, Mr. Eisner reiterated the positive progress the Moroccan society has gone through. He also described Africa as a world of opportunities and changes where Morocco plays a key role. He invited all to work to make Africa a place where American companies and local firms should be able to find mutual interests.
Both Scott and Myron praised the role played by AmCham Morocco in bolstering US-Morocco business relations. They also reminded that the U.S. Chamber can be a key partner in providing trainings in various topics, capacity building, and best
practices sharing. The U.S. Chamber executives promised to do frequent travels to Morocco and
follow up with AmCham on various initiatives.
