The AmCham-OCP Trade & Investment Award 2020

Lamination Automotive Fabrics (Adient) receives the AmCham-OCP US-Morocco Trade and Investment Award 2020.

The AmCham-OCP Moroccan-American Trade and Investment Award 2020 was given at the AmCham Annual Gala Ball organized on Saturday, January 25th on the theme: “Morocco: The Gateway to Africa” in attendance of His Excellency Ambassador David Fischer, officials from the Moroccan government and the business community.

The winner of the Award is Lamination Automotive Fabrics – a subsidiary of Adient – a world leader in car seats who is present in 35 countries with 220 sites and more than 83,000 employees.

Adient has opened its first manufacturing subsidiary “Lamination Automotive Fabrics” in May 2018 in the Atlantic free zone of Kenitra. This unit aims at expanding its fabric business for seating and interior applications. The plant specializes in fabric lamination for automotive seating – a process of binding fabric layers together to create higher endurance, greater resilience, and a premium look and feel- and will serve clients such as Renault, PSA, Opel, BMW and Nissan.

Lamination Automotive Fabrics has invested 15 million USD and created 160 jobs in 2019 and is expected to reach 300 jobs in 2020. The staff has received 3,000 hours of specialized training.

Lamination Automotive Fabrics is certified IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 and supports charities notably orphans’ associations as well as local events within the Atlantic Free Zone of Kenitra.
